i just read about this, and decided to check myself. and i'm pretty sure it did, since i don't remember 1TB 3.5in drives costing like $150.

I got my 1TB western digital for like 60 bucks...

It has 7200rpm and a 62mb cache as well.

This. Prices will start going down again, but there is still suppose to be a shortage of HDDs though Q1 this year and maybe into Q2.

But yeah right now is not the best time to buy a HDD if you can help it.

MP3 and AAC are essentially the same thing.

Not only that but unless you're an audio tech junkie (aka what killer thinks he is), 320 kbps MP3 files are more than enough.

The human ear actually can't hear quality beyond 270 or so kbps, so 320 is already more than enough.

not really, some people can, usually those who have a career as a studio engineer, etc.
the problem with MP3 is choice. you can't choose a constant quality (VBR) setting that is about 300 kbps with MP3, it tops out at like 250 for most music.
