Future build.
About to buy this, making one final check to make sure it's nearly full potential at my budget.
Priority is mainly gaming and recording, not too heavy editing. Will be OC'ing the 3570 to 4.5 GHz.
Still open to changing it, but don't suggest any parts that cost more than the one I already have.
COOLER MASTER Elite 335 ATX Mid Tower
Samsung by Seagate Spinpoint 500gb SATA 7200 RPM 3.0gb/s
ASUS DRW-24B1ST Black SATA 24x DVD Burner
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP
Rosewill CAPSTONE Series CAPSTONE-450 450W Continuous @ 50°C, 80 PLUS GOLD Certified
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866
GIGABYTE GA-Z77-D3H LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W
COOLER MASTER Hyper N 520 RR-920-N520-GP 92mm Sleeve CPU Cooler
Acer S220HQLAbd Black 21.5" 5ms LED Backlight Widescreen LCD Monitor
Razer Deathadder + Razer Arctosa and a tube of Arctic Silver 5 Compound.
$1,098.27 Total, my max is $1,100.

Re: Future build.
It's continuous(most PSUs wattage being displayed are peak, not cont.). I need 550 or so peak. I think it should be fine. I was recommended the PSU by a friend, never done research on continuous and it's relation to peak, so I'm trusting him on it. Seems to be very efficient with wattage, though.
By all means, if you know a PSU gauged by peak rather than continuous that's known to be high quality(and above 550W) then suggest it, I'll consider pretty much everything. (@ or under $60 though.)

Re: Future build.
my knowledge is kinda not up-to-date, but from what i remember, most "quality" PSUs are primarily made by two companies: Fortron and Seasonic. for example, Corsair's lineup is manufactured by Seasonic, and i believe Antec's are Fortron. OCZ is also Fortron i believe.
from what i know, Rosewill's psu is made by neither, and is from a lower tier company. this is like info from years ago though, but it's kind of a good idea to look into who makes Rosewill's psus.
i'm kinda new to this continuous power branding, because years ago, only really high-tier manufacturers like PC Power and Cooling rated their PSUs by continuous.

You could try this.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341017
600 watt and modular, its $5 more though. Technically cheaper if you do the mail in rebate bs but meh. I just recently used this in a new computer, can't really say too much about it since I've only had it 2 weeks but no problems with it so far.

Boring HDD is boring. Also, Seagate it meh.
i5 is also boring and outclassed.
Razer just sucks so much dick and you should feel ashamed if you buy their products.

Re: Future build.
I prefer Western Digital but whatever.
I did just read today its harder to overclock Ivy Bridge processors, you pretty much won't be able to get it too far over 4.4 - 4.5 GHz on air. They were using a i7 3770k however.

Corsair has a DOA chance of like 10-20% and Antec's are about the same as well. Rosewill is pretty shitty in cases but their PSUs are decent.

This is a budget build, not a HERP DERP 10K FANTASY BUILD, so obviously whatever I pick for CPU will be outclassed.
As opposed to what? Roccat? Microsoft? Logitech? Das? Laughable.

A DeathAdder is easily the best mouse for what you're doing.

Re: Future build.
you could probably save a few bucks by reusing your current DVD drive or case. you'll care about how your PC looks for like a week, then afterwards its just meh.

Re: Future build.
Had to downgrade that keyboard to a logitech so I could get a modular PSU. First one probably had a peak of like 600w but I'm being safe anyways, considering there's only like 8 reviews on that rosewill.

Yeah, I'm probably going to re-use my DVD drive(even though it's like 10 mb/s transferlol) and upgrade my monitor to a 23" ASUS.

Re: Future build.
i never understood the modular hype. i mean, i just stuff all the wires in that little space, and then i don't touch it for another year.

Re: Future build.
With my current psu, I had to slightly bend my video card out of the way to actually reach my frontal USB, almost gave up and returned the PSU at one point. Guess I'm paranoid about it now, or something.

Re: Future build.
Actually decided to get the 2500k, since I'm not gonna focus so much on rendering times and such. I could leave it stock and it would be fine for pretty much any game. Thanks
