My question is, does it run crossfire with the APU and the 7670m? And does crossfire work on all games?

It has some Turbo Core thing where it goes up to 2.4 GHz, but I'm not sure how it works. I think that when 2 cores are idle, it starts, but that sounds stupid. It'll probably only work when I'm browsing or playing low end games.
Also, wat. 12 year old processor? It came out like last year.

2.4gHz is still pretty shit. One of my computers has a 3GHz quad core that was like $100 two years ago. And according to what you said it only goes up to 2.4GHz on things that use 1 or 2 cores, not all four.
I was referring to it being essentially a Pentium 4 1.5GHz on single threaded applications, which came out in 2000.
That craptop is stuck between a gaming craptop and a general use one.
If you want it for general use, that's overkill. If you want it for gaming, you need more.

Build a desktop and get 100% more for your money if you'll only be gaming with it. If you would use it for school(the new laptop you'd be getting, that is), couldn't you just use your current one and get a desktop?

other laptops with the same specs run games like bf3 40-ish on low-medium settings. and more core speed is just for productivity. it may help the give more frames just a bit.

If your problem is that you aren't comfortable with building, order the parts individually and go to a local computer shop and have it assembled.
Otherwise, you're going to fuck yourself over no matter what laptop you get, since you already have one which would be fine for school.

what do you plan on doing with it? if you plan on doing anything more than light gaming on it, you'll be disappointed.
