Accel World

i like the concept of this animu, but i can't, for the life of me, stand chibi characters. it's the reason i dropped Sora no Otoshimono dammit.

BUT YES FINALE.

It was a good finale. Looking forward to Season 2.

This fucking show.

Good finale, I am too looking forward to more Kuroyukihime and Blood Leopard.

I fukin' loled at that scene.

Okay, after rewatching (because bored, and I like the whole concept of brain-burst), comparing this to Sword Art Online (fairly similar genre, same author, etc), this was significantly better in so many aspects.

Firstly music, not including the OP and EDs which were above-average at best, the actual music of this show was so much better. It rose and swell where it should, and made some of the weaker scenes so much better.

The characters had more depth to them (comparing the anime only), and their relationships were most definitely better. Haru felt like a much more real character, because of how much he suffered, in a way that wasn't so cheesy (i.e his trauma from bullying, his looks and his weight are all common problems that seriously affect a lot of people). Noumi, was absolutely fucking horrendous. He was possibly one of the characters I've hated the most, if not taking the top spot. He also didn't do it in such a way that felt weak, like it did with Suguo (Big Bad from ALO-arc).
The animation was actually pretty good, perhaps not quite as "pretty" as SAO, but there was a certain thing to their character design that I quite liked, but this is kind of subjective.

I think the one thing that let Accel World down was merely Haru's character design (i.e the whole Chibi thing), single handed, was probably the biggest turn off for most people. But then again, how exactly do you do ugly in anime, since by nature any artistic medium exaggerates both beauty and the lack of. So, I suppose they wanted to avoid going too far, and went with something that could be called cute (if you squinted your eyes and looked the other way).

Also, in Accel World there was a struggle. Unlike SAO where Kirito just single handed (or I suppose dual-handed to be precise) slaughtered everything with more or less no effort. Haru actually had to undergo a lot of character growth. Not to mention that the whole premise of Accel World is only those with significant mental trauma and scars are able to step into the Accelerated World (which is surprisingly dark when you think about it).

Still hate him whining 24/7.

Not as bad as shoe, since he tries to change.

As I said before, it wasn't a bad show. Maybe it was a bit shounen, but I really didn't care too much for thinking during my breaks, when I want a break from studying from midterms, I don't want any mental exercise. (Also, Accel World had pretty good soundtrack).

Accel World just isn't rewatch worthy imo. but the only show i've actually rewatched so far is K-On, so maybe i just have bad taste.
