I think this kinda sound ok, so i'll post it here. Before anyone says my mixing sounds unbearable, i remade it in the link in the description. So the mix should be "alright" sounding now.

I think you did well. I could never do something like this simply because I suck at using the computer, programs (movie maker and vegas) and many other technological stuff...

for some reason, i just think i could get a pro sounding mix, with just my laptop and headphones. definitely investing in a soundcard when i can.

up the volumes on the vocals.

can barely hear them.

nvm it sounds good now, dunno what was up with my speakers.

don't scare me like that lol, i've got OCD when it comes to this stuff. though i'm definitely upping the treble on the vocals next time.

jaja my blog thread #2.

After a year and a half of listening to GirlDeMo, i suddenly realized there was a third guitar track playing, panned "center" (double track). can't believe i just found that out, after a whole year and a half.

Now the question is whether i should copy that style. it does make the mix sound a lot fuller, but my laptop is already close to it's processing limit during mixing.

next song: done draft for lyrics, now working on melody/chords. progress is extremely slow because of loldragonnest/general laziness.

just finished most of the guitar arrangement/recordings! /excited
only thing that's missing is the solo section, where my fingers will be covered in dead skin tomorrow. and maybe re-record some sloppy sections.

right now, i don't plan on putting vocals in the first 16 bars. i'm just wondering if i should put vocals in the first 8 bars, so it's less "empty" sounding in the beginning. an opinion would be nice. i can't count on VocaloidOtaku because they tend to ignore opinion questions.

i muted the vocals, not like you could hear it anyways at the moment.


and yes, guitars sound terribad when it's unmixed and recorded through usb.

Does anyone know where i can download the Hatsune Miku vocaloid?
i have some music i need a singer for, and i cant find a real person to do it for me

I downloaded vocaloid 3 + libraries before the Megaupload incident, and i think it's really hard to find now. I can upload Vocaloid 3 to mediafire for you, the installer is only 36MB. the installer for Miku is 256MB, i could probably also upload that. but Miku is Japanese only at the moment, unless you're amazing at vocaloid.

I'm using Luka English atm, but the installer is 970MB, which could take a while for me...

And i should be done mixing by tomorrow. all that's left after is a friend to finish his pic for me. doubtful that's gonna be soon though XD

the vocaloid community actually looks down on downloading vocaloids, so when English Miku or Luka V3 comes out, i'm probably going to shell out money for it =X

Luka's english is naturally bad, so not being able to hear the words is normal. though i did my best to fix it.

Iunno how to explain it... The voice just sounds overly synthesized.

Oh i see what you mean. Ya, i also feel i added too much distortion to the voice.
Also too much post-recording distortion to guitars too...

Is it hard to make them sound natural?

Pronunciation-wise, yea it's hard to make it sound right.
The "distortion" sound, i've just gotta cut back on it. Distortion just helps the track cut through the mix a bit better, but it seems like i over did it.

removed distortion on vocals and guitars, as well as other changes, hopefully it sounds more natural now. i don't think i compressed the bass enough, but that's not too important i guess.
